Cinemeax is yet another film and series channel from America. This satellite pay channel was launched alongside HBO in the 1980s. It is also owned by the company Home Box Office. Cinemax was introduced in American homes with cable. The only difference in the programming of Cinemax from HBO and other similar movie channels was the fact that Cinemax had adult content showing late at night.
However, as the times progressed and this channel was expanded to other countries, Cinemax eventually grew out of this phase and continued to air only films and series. In many countries, Cinemax is still available on their local satellite services. It is especially a popular Hollywood film channel in the ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
